Rhinestone Boots on an Old Church Stage

Nashville, Tennessee-the home of country music. When one thinks of Nashville, the country music automatically comes to mind, but has one ever thought of what the music city might be like without country singers?

For the past week or so, I have been addicted to Tim McGraw’s new song ‘Nashville without You’ from his recent album, Two Lanes of Freedom. The song addresses the foreign concept of what the river town might have been like if there wasn’t Johnny Cash, Patsy Cline, or other prominent country singers. What would the city have been like with the Ryman or the Grand Ole Opry?

The importance of Nashville and country music has influenced generations and will continue to influence them. Country music and it’s singers put Nashville on the map and made it their home.

Nashville will always hold a special place in my heart. One day, I hope to be a Nashville country belle and see those stetsons under Broadway lights. For now, I’m just glad we don’t have to think what Nashville would be like without a fire burning around a ring or no woman standing by her man. “Nashville wouldn’t be Nashville without you.”
