Country Singer Welcomes Baby Boy

Congratulations to country superstar Carrie Underwood and husband, Mike Fisher! The couple have announced the birth of their first child, a son named Isaiah Michael Fisher. Yesterday, the “Something in the Water” singer shared the photo below on social media:

Musical Monday

And of course, I had to share the original “I’m Not Gonna Miss You” by Glen Campbell.

September 11, 2001…We will never forget

How do you even find words for today? 13 years ago, the 9/11 attacks on the United States occurred and we quickly found ourselves in a war against terrorism. It was a war many didn’t want, but, because of that horrible day 13 years ago, America is now stronger, braver, and has learned to lean on each other more often.

Every day I am proud of my country, but on days like today, my sense of patriotism, like many Americans, is greater. I’m feeling a little like CMT and wanted to share with y’all some of my favorite patriotic country songs. What other genre of music celebrates America more than country music? (Trust me, it was hard narrowing down the list.)

Thank you to the policemen, firefighters, volunteers, the military, and the families who lost loved ones for their sacrifice and courage on that tragic day. This post is dedicated to you!

1: “Where Were You When the World Stopped Turning?” Alan Jackson

2: “American Flag on the Moon” Brad Paisley

3: “If You’re Reading This” Tim McGraw

4: “Some Gave All” Billy Ray Cyrus

5: “Arlington” Trace Adkins

6: “Letters from Home” John Michael Montgomery

7: “Ragged Old Flag” Johnny Cash

8: “God Bless the U.S.A.” Lee Greenwood

9: “America Will Always Stand” Randy Travis

10: “It’s America” Rodney Atkins
